Rhyd y Galen offers a camping experience like no other. Surrounded by Eryri (Snowdonia), the site offers accommodation for touring caravans, tents, roof tents, trailer tents, campervans and motorhomes with modern, clean facilities.

Throw yourself into nature and enjoy an authentic camping adventure with a truly restful backdrop that will quiet your mind.

The Campsite

We have both grass pitches and hard standing pitches for motorhomes available on our campsite, with a few level plots available near the disabled toilet and shower facilities so visitors with disabilities can access the facilities with ease. All toilet facilities and shower blocks are well lit throughout the night.

Our pitches are generous in size, with parking next to your unit. Additionally, we have 5 secluded tent pitches with parking close by. There is a shop a mile away in the local village selling basics and also a cafe.

Our camping site comes with everything you need to enjoy your time in Eryri (Snowdonia) without hassle:

  • 16-amp hookups.
  • A chemical disposal point is conveniently sited.
  • Water and drainage is provided on each serviced pitch.
  • A contact telephone number is provided for enquiries. 
  • Wardens live on site for your safety and convenience.
  • Shop and cafe in the village, Bethel.
  • Tesco, Morrisons, Spar and Asda supermarkets are in Caernarfon.
  • Toilet and shower block

  • Dishwashing and laundry areas. 
  • Free WiFi throughout the park.
  • 40kw EV Charger
  • Local bus service at the site entrance.

Camping & Touring FAQ

  • What are the check-in and check-out times?

    For touring and camping pitches, check-in and check-out is 12 noon. For the Shepherd's Hut, check-in is from 1:00pm and check-out is by 11:00am. If you need to arrange a slightly different time, just speak to us and we'll do our best to help.

  • Do you accept tents?

    Yes, tents of all sizes are very welcome, including roof tents. Please let us know the approximate footprint of your tent when booking so we can allocate the right pitch for you.

  • Do you accept roof tents?

    Yes, we do accept roof tents.

  • Do you accept caravans and motorhomes?

    Yes, we cater for caravans, motorhomes, and RVs. Please provide your vehicle dimensions when booking, and do get in touch if you have a larger unit so we can confirm a suitable pitch is available.

  • Do you accept RVs?

    Yes, we do have a couple of pitches suitable for RVs. Please get in touch before booking so we can confirm availability and make sure we can accommodate your vehicle comfortably.

  • Do you have hard stand pitches?

    Yes, we do have all weather pitches available on site.

  • Are there any serviced pitches?

    Yes, we have serviced pitches with water, drainage and 16 amp electricity.

  • Do you take seasonal pitches?

    Yes, we have fully serviced seasonal pitches with electricity and Wi-Fi included.

  • Are electric hook-ups available?

    Yes, we have 16 amp electric hook-up pitches available on site, providing around 3kW at any one time. Please note that hook-ups cannot be used for charging electric vehicles. EV charging is available at the 40kW charger at Cae Crwn nearby. Please request a hook-up pitch when booking to guarantee availability.

  • Do you have a car charger?

    Yes, we have a 40kW EV charger on site. You will need to download the Project EV Pro app to use it. Please note that the electric hookup points cannot be used for charging vehicles.

  • Is there a motorhome waste water discharge point?

    Yes, there is a drive over discharge point just down towards the green shower block from the barrier.

  • Do you allow campfires?

    Yes, we do allow campfires, as long as they are kept off the ground and in a fire pit. Fire pits can be hired from reception if you don't have your own. Firewood can also be purchased at reception. Please never leave a fire unattended, and ensure it is fully extinguished before you turn in for the night.

  • Can I use a BBQ on my pitch?

    Yes, BBQs are welcome. Please use a raised BBQ stand and do not place hot equipment directly onto the grass or picnic benches. Ensure all coals are completely cold before disposal.

Don’t rush home at the end of your holiday. We offer a late stay option on your day of departure. For an additional £5 guests can stay until 5pm (space permitting). Ask the wardens on your day of departure for availability.
